As part of this year’s music curriculum, 3rd and 4th graders will be learning to play the recorder. The recorder gives the students the opportunity to apply the concepts and skills they have learned in music.

I am asking the students to bring in $5.00 to purchase the recorder. We do offer scholarships to any students who cannot afford one. Toy recorders typically do not produce quality tone for beginners and are difficult to play correctly. For health reasons, students may not share instruments.

I will send a letter home to students in the middle of first quarter with more information about recorders. The hope is that we will be playing some fun holiday music by second quarter!
