Welcome to the ERES 2018 - 2019 school year!

I will be starting choir rehearsals the first week of September (September 4th). Rehearsals will be in the morning on Tuesdays from 8:00am-8:50am. Please make sure students have eaten (or had a snack) before choir because I don't let out early for breakfast. If they eat school breakfast I will let them get it after rehearsal. I will take 50 students 3^rd – 6^th grade who are interested. Previous knowledge or background about singing is NOT required. If you're curious come check it out! :)

I’m looking at doing a holiday musical at the end of 2nd quarter but it requires help from the choir students and parents. The 2 weeks leading into the performance I will have several additional practices on stage so the students are comfortable moving from scene to scene.

Expectations of Choir:

• Attendance is required and runs like school expectations.
  • Excused absences- I need a note, email, or phone call from the parent if a student is sick or cannot make it to practice.
  • Unexcused absences- 3 unexcused absences are allowed, on the 4th unexcused absence I will have to ask you try choir again the following year. We go through a lot of material especially when learning a musical. Choir is a team effort and everyone's participation counts!
• Siblings: Unfortunately siblings cannot hangout in the foyer until the 8:40 bell. We don't have staff that are are school that early to keep an eye on them but you're welcome to checkout YMCA as an alternative option.
• Behavior: Classroom expectations are the same in choir as they are in school. If I have a student who is having a hard time choosing to follow directions I will ask them to leave choir for that practice. If it becomes a recurring problem and contact home to collaborate on ways to solve the problem. If the problem does not get resolved I will have to ask the student to try choir another year.
  • School behaviors- if your is suspended they cannot participate in choir during that time.
• Don't forget to bring water (you'll get thirsty with all of that singing), a pencil, and your music to each rehearsal.

• November 2nd - Subway singing 5:30 pm
• November 27th - 30th Tuesday - Friday Dress Rehearsals 8:00-8:45
• November 30th Tree Lighting Ceremony - time unknown
• December 1st ERES Holiday Bazaar - arrive at 9:50 singing at 10:00 am
• December 4rd - Dress Rehearsal 8:00 am
• December 5th - PERFORMANCE!
