Jewelry
Jewelry is an exploration of fabricated jewelry. Projects will be based upon designing, sawing, soldering and polishing jewelry made from flat sheets of metal. The use of natural and manmade materials to enhance projects will be emphasized. The course may include simple forging, casting, enameling, etching, bezel and stone setting (equipment dependent). It is offered to students in grades 9–12 and may be taken up to 4 times for elective credit. There is no prerequisite for this class, however Art Studio, Art 1 or Drawing & Design are recommended. Materials fee of $25 required each semester.
Art Studio
Art Studio is a general exploratory course with a strong emphasis on the elements and principles of design. A variety of art processes and media (such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture) and art appreciation will be introduced. It is offered to students in grades 9–12 and may be taken up to 4 times for elective credit. There is no prerequisite for this class. Materials fee of $25 required each semester.
