Sandra Hernandez has been teaching Art within the Anchorage School District for over 10 years. This is her third year at Service High School and is very excited about it! 

She grew up in Girdwood, Alaska where her parents still live. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage for her Bachelors of Art in Art, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks for her teaching Certificate and Masters in Education. She loves learning and making things; with her students, and on her own! She lives with her husband Adan, their daughter Lupe and their cats, Keiko and Miles and betta fish Rainbow. Sandra and her family like to get outside together; gardening and biking in the summers, and x-country skiing and ice skating in the winters.
