High School Participants

DCHS students who wish to participate should do the following with their parents' permission:

  1. Go to the main event page on the St. Baldrick's website.
  2. Click "Join Us" and register a shavee profile. (The student's school email address may be used.)
      • If the student has shaved with St. Baldrick's before, they can sign in to their existing account.
  3. Print a copy of the Shavee Participant Form, fill it out with a parent signature, and bring it on the event day.
  4. On the event day, high school participants will be able to shave whenever it fits their schedule.
  5. They must check in with their teacher, and then may use their participant form as a pass to leave class when their teacher allows it. Students should check with teachers ahead of time to see when a good time to leave class would be.
  6. The HS students will check in with their form when they get to the gym.
  7. A few barber chairs will be reserved for HS students so that they can get in and out quickly.
  8. After shaving, participants who have registered online and raised at least $50 on the website will receive a free St. Baldrick's t-shirt.
  9. Students will return to class once they have shaved their head.

All student shavees will receive:

- A free DCC beanie!

- A Baldrick's Wristband!

STUDENTS who raise at least $50 on the website will receive:

- A free Baldrick's shirt!

Notes:

  • All participants should register online if possible, whether shaving or donating 10 inches of hair. Having registered participants is how we show the St. Baldrick's Foundation how many participants we had, and those numbers determine the amount of supplies we are sent for the next year's event.
  • Students who do not register online will still be allowed to shave with a completed participant form.
  • Students who do not register online will not be able to earn a free St. Baldrick's t-shirt by raising $50 with their account on the web site.
  • Parents are welcome to attend to watch their kids shave, but all adults that are not D20 employees must check in earlier at the DCMS main office and receive a visitor's badge. Before the event, we will publish a schedule on this page outlining when each student's wave will be.
  • Any parents who wish to shave along with their kids will need to check in earlier at the DCMS main office to receive a visitor's badge, and fill out a form at the event.
  • If a high school student wishes to shave with a younger sibling, they should work to coordinate times beforehand.
