Second Essay Due November 17th:
Essay Question 1: You have now spent a month studying Plato and Aristotle. As we have learned, Plato and Aristotle have quite different views of what the ideal ruler ought to be. While Plato argues that the best leader is a philosopher, Aristotle’s ideal ruler is a man of practical wisdom. Answer the following question, keeping these ideal rulers in mind: Should everyone be educated in the art of philosophy? Why or why not?

Homework Expectations:
Students will be assigned reading nightly. This will usually be out of their current book, but may also be from a print-out that I will give to them.
