Hello!

This is an exciting week as it is our first week back after summer. We will be focusing on the "whys" this week. Why do we study Math? Why do we study Science? Why do we study Grammar? Etc.

Additionally, in Math we will be reviewing work last year on place value and multiplying by tens. In Grammar we will begin by reviewing the parts of speech, while in History we will be starting off with conversations and readings about the Renaissance, before diving in to the reformation. For this week and next we will be reviewing cursive handwriting before we start in on Grammar and Root Words. For Literature, we will introduce the bard himself: Shakespeare, and in Science we will be introducing a unit on Pollution. Finally, for Composition we will be going over note-taking skills and reading comprehension in order to be better able to write a summary or notes covering relevant material.

It's a busy week! But it will have a lot of fun in there.
