Fun fact: In 1874, Claude Monet and a few of his artist friends created an exhibit of their own (an art show). Many people were disgusted by their work. They were not considered artists and became known as "impressionists". Calling these artists impressionists was an insult at the time. Today, Monet is considered to be one of the most famous and influential artists of all time.
