ABOUT

Ascension Performance was established in 2026 finally full filling a lifetime dream for owners Evan and Alexis Aguiar. They both have an extensive history both personally and professionally in not only the fitness industry but also the health field. They pride themselves in being a family owned and operated semi-private and private training facility. Specializing in resistance training, weight loss, general health, body recomposition, powerlifting, bodybuilding, corrective exercise, strength training and functional movement.

Evan Aguiar

Owner / Head Trainer

Evan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Kean University and is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. With 5 years as a personal trainer, 2 years as a PTA, and nearly 20 years of weight training experience, Evan brings a rare mix of scientific knowledge, real-world coaching, and personal transformation.

His journey started at just 13 years old, when his WWII Veteran grandfather inspired him to “pump iron.” By 15, Evan was competing in local powerlifting meets, working his way to the national stage and even stepping into strongman competitions in his 20s. As a strength athlete Evan was once as heavy as 320lbs, but has downsized nearly 100lb since then to prioritize health and aesthetics. He has overcome countless injuries and has helped many others do the same.

Alexis Aguiar

Owner / General Manager

Alexis holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Science from Boston University. Alexis' experience includes working in multiple D1 strength and conditioning rooms. Prior to her professional career she played D3 soccer and basketball before transferring to Boston University where she independently perused powerlifting on the national stage.

Alexis also worked on several Alzheimer's Clinical Research studies at the clinical level as a Research Coordinator before perusing their dream of owning a gym.

While still an avid fitness enthusiast she has hung up her lifting belt and now keeps in shape to keep up with their two performance/competition Portuguese Water Dogs Boomerang and Ricochet.

Holly SOARES

Trainer

Holly is a certified personal trainer dedicated to helping clients build strength, confidence, and sustainable healthy habits. As a former athlete, fitness and training have always been an integral part of her lifestyle. When she parted ways with team athletics, she quickly fell in love with resistance training in the gym and has made it her mission to remain a curious student of her craft. With a results-driven approach and a strong foundation in exercise science, Holly designs customized training programs tailored to each individual’s goals, fitness level, and lifestyle. Specializing in strength training, fat loss, and functional movement, she focuses on proper technique, injury prevention, and long-term progress—not quick fixes. Whether working with beginners or experienced athletes, Holly creates a supportive, motivating environment that challenges clients to reach their full potential.
