To watch last year's documentary that includes refugee stories from our very own ASB community:
RefugArt is an annual student-led fundraising event that combines the power of art and philanthropy to raise awareness about the global refugee crisis. This year, the executive committe aims to shine light on the climate crisis's effect on enforced migration. Through our event, we will celebrate and pay tribute to refugees with a day full of stations for students where they will learn all about what refugees are, how they can help, refugee experiences, and buy art pieces whose proceeds will go straight to aiding both climate refugees and other affected individuals. In addition, the evening event will be from 18:15-21:30 for parents and guests in the auditorium. Here, the Executive Committee will share a presentation, special guests will share their personal experiences along with a Q&A, and a silent art auction will happen (all proceeds will go to improving the Refugee and climate crisis). Learn more about the evening event here.
The RefugArt day for students will consist of station activities led by the Executive Team and Eleventh Grade volunteers. ASB students will rotate through the seven stations below (depending on their grade level) throughout the school day.
The closing ceremony starts at 18:15 in the auditorium. It is where the silent art auction will take place, along with guest speakers brought by the UNHCR and a open-ended Q&A, . It is open to parents, guests, and staff.
