Performing Arts

Performing Arts are an integral part of school life at ASB. Students receive curriculum Music lessons PK3 - Grade 3. In grades 4 and 5, all students learn to play a wind or string instrument in Band or Orchestra classes. In Middle School, students focus on Band, Orchestra or Theater. In High School there are Music electives for grades 9 and 10. IB Music is an option as part of the IB Diploma program. Alongside curriculum Performing Arts, ASB offers a wide range of activities; Musical Theater productions, Choirs, Bands, Dance, Drama and instrument lessons are taught through enrichment and after school programs. There are many performances throughout the year, which parents are encouraged to watch. We are members of AMIS and ISTA and participate in national and international festivals and have links to performing artists and establishments in the local  and international community.

In 2023-24 We will be extending the MS Performing Arts curriculum to grade 8 where students will be guided through band, orchestra or theater courses. We will also be expanding our range of music and drama after school activities.
