The figures below show the WYD organiser's package component and DiD separately. The final Malaysian amount will also account for national fees, the proposed solidarity contribution and exchange-rate / transaction costs. Confirmed options and payment instructions will follow.

STEP 1 · WYD PROPER

Transportation card (usable for public transit, actual coverage amount TBD),

A1 WYD with accommodation

includes accommodation, meals, transport, travel insurance and a pilgrim kit, from the evening of August 2 (including dinner) through the morning of August 9 (including breakfast).

A1 + 1 AUGUST WYD + extra arrival day, with accommodation

USD340

includes accommodation, meals, transport, travel insurance and a pilgrim kit, from the evening of August 1 (including dinner) through the morning of August 9 (including breakfast).

A2 WYD (without LOC accommodation)

USD270

includes lunch and dinner, transport, travel insurance and a pilgrim kit, from dinner on August 2 through dinner on August 8. (No Breakfast is provided as part of the package)

You arrange and budget for your own accommodation during WYD Proper in Seoul.

Accommodation

Pilgrims who choose a package that includes accommodation will stay in simple shared lodging, such as schools, sports centers and parishes, or in the homes of parishioners (homestays). Each participant must bring a sleeping bag and sleeping mat. Pilgrim groups that choose a package without accommodation must arrange their own accommodation. On the night of August 7, 2027, following the Vigil, all pilgrims will spend the night outdoors at the event venue. Each participant must bring a sleeping bag and sleeping mat for that night as well.

What goes into the Malaysian amount?

WYD package (A1 OR A1 + 1 AUGUST OR A2)

+ RM150 administration + RM100 Malaysian identity (Contingent T-shirt & merchandise)

+ proposed USD15 solidarity contribution

with exchange-rate and transaction costs accounted for.

COSTS YOU ARRANGE YOURSELF

Budget beyond the package

Return flights

RM2,000–3,500. Each pilgrim arranges their own flights and travel.

Comprehensive travel insurance

Approximately RM150. Obtain cover for your whole journey, including DiD if joining.

Korean entry authorisation

Approximately RM40 for K-ETA, subject to the requirements applicable to you at the time of travel.

Other expenses

Personal spending, meals or transport that is not covered in the pilgrim package, and any diocesan-specific costs. A2 pilgrims also need a separate accommodation budget.

We recommend allowing at least RM3,000+ in individually borne costs on top of the national amount.

Your actual total depends on your flights, accommodation, programme choice and personal needs.

WYD Proper runs from 3–8 August 2027. DiD runs from 29 July–2 August.

Your package may include earlier arrival or different accommodation dates.
