We look forward to welcoming all Primary 7 pupils to Mackie Academy on
Monday 17th to Friday 21st June 2024.
This page will give you information directly relating to the P7-S1 Induction Days.

On each morning, pupils are asked to enter the school via the Main Entrance (at the front of the school) and make their way to the Main Hall.

School starts: 8:40am
School Ends: 3:15 pm
Uniform
Uniform
Pupils should wear their usual Primary uniform for the week but ensure that they have appropriate and comfortable footwear.
As our Scottish summer weather can be unpredictable, can pupils ensure that they have outdoor jackets/something waterproof just in case.
Pupils will be outside for part of Monday morning and Thursday afternoon so appropriate outdoor clothing is especially important on these days.

Pupils need to bring snack/juice/water etc. for break as there will be no access to the canteen on these days.
WATER: pupils are encouraged to bring a refillable bottle and make use of the many water fountains to be found around the school building.

Pupils will have a slightly earlier lunch on induction days. This will give them the opportunity to become familiar with the canteen and the choices on offer in quieter surroundings.
If preferred, pupils can take a packed lunch which can be taken to the canteen at this time.
Please note - if you have not yet applied for the NEC card then please do so an a matter of urgency as these cards are essential for life at Mackie Academy.

If you have yet to apply for your child's National Entitlement Card, we would encourage you do this in plenty of time for them starting with us in June.
If the card has been sent out but you are unable to load money on to it please ensure your child has money with them as they will be supported to add this on to their card via a dedicated machine in the school.

Meet the PSAT Team Google Event
Meet the PSAT Team Google Event
The meet the PSAT teacher event is on Monday 17th June at 18:30. This will be an online event. Joining codes for each of these meetings will be provided via email in advance of the meetings.

Mackie Academy library will be open for families of P7 pupils on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June from 3:30 - 5pm.
This will give families the chance to meet our school Librarian Maxine Bruce, cast their eyes over our fabulous book selection and enjoy a tea/coffee and some family reading time.
No appointments required, just pop in to see what we have to offer.
Taster Sessions - Table Tennis/Dance
Taster Sessions - Table Tennis/Dance
Opportunity for pupils to sign up for Table Tennis and Dance taster sessions at lunchtimes during Induction week.
If your child is interested in signing up for any of these sessions, they need to let their P7 teacher know by Friday 7th June.
