A solid foundation in Maths is essential for every child, helping them to navigate the world and to manage their lives, no matter what path their future life takes. Everyone needs to be able to manage time, shopping and finances. But we want more than this for our children. Maths opens up opportunities in science, technology, engineering and further education. Maths helps our children thrive.
Why should children practise Maths at home?
At Johnshaven School, we strive to ensure our children are confident, resilient and creative learners in Maths and this takes practise and support. It is essential that children not only practise Maths in school every day, but that families support each child in talking, encouraging and supporting children in their learning at home.
