What's it all about?

Across the Northern Alliance we have a commitment to listening to the voices of our children and young people and promoting equalities and inclusive practice. Following the collaboration between the Northern Alliance and the North Sea Commission last year, a number of our young people asked to continue to be involved and to support our work within the Northern Alliance, to further their opportunities for participation and engagement.

National Children's Day UK on 16 May provided an opportunity to raise awareness about the rights of children and is generally promoted and celebrated by organisations sharing the projects they are running or things they care about. The UNCRC will be incorporated into Scots law this year and work being undertaken around pupil engagement and participation may be of benefit to all.

'Include Me!' took place over 3 afternoons from 17 -19 May with sessions led by experts, professionals and young people themselves highlighting examples of practice and local stories that you may wish to follow up on or try out in your own setting or context.

Catch Up - Sessions were recorded so if you were unable to attend you can catch up in your own time. Click on the days below or in the menu to view the recordings and access associated resources.

Connect and Collaborate

We are all part of the Northern Alliance and there is so much good practice to share from across our 8 local authorities. If you would like to share examples of work, would be interested in delivering a session in the future about your progress or be involved in a Network to meet colleagues who share a similar interest in the area of Youth Voice and Pupil Participation, then please email northernalliance8@gmail.com or share photographs and work and include us on twitter using #IncludeMeNA2021
