Aberdeen Voluntary Action is working urgently with the Health & Social Care Partnership in Aberdeenshire to try and identify suitable volunteers help ease the winter pressure in In the Health & Social Care environment in various locations within Aberdeenshire, including Banff, undertaking a variety of roles and tasks in social care settings. This will be NOT include any personal care for the residents but will be all the ‘extras’ that help improve their lives e.g. making a cup of tea, chatting to residents, supporting activities for the residents. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for 5th or 6th pupils who many be interested in volunteering, especially those who may be or thinking about applying for nursing or caring courses or pursuing a career in this area.

Thursday 6 March, 12PM-3.30PM: Careers Fair

Thursday 6 March, 5.30PM-7PM: Trade, Earn, Learn Apprenticeship Event – this will include an information session on apprenticeship pathways, plus a chance to meet with employers who are interested in recruiting apprentices.

Students often struggle when it comes to getting work experience in Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary. That is why we have created our FREE Virtual Work Experience Programme.

Our Programme has now relaunched as a free resource students can access any time of day as E-learning. This is a fantastic free resource for you to let your students know about as it will help them make an informed decision about a career in Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary.

Once they complete all sessions they also receive a certificate which can be used as part of their application to Medical, Dental or Veterinary School.

At Medic Mentor we are always striving to level the playing field when it comes to applying to Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary. This free work experience aims to help raise aspirations and find the next brilliant mind to join these fields. Thank you for passing this on to your students.
