What will I learn?

What will I learn?

As an Apprentice Kitchen Sales Designer you will learn to turn our builders and their clients dream kitchens into a reality.  By visiting their home you will listen to their ideas, evaluate their needs and offer your expert advice, then plan, design and sell inspirational kitchens that matches their requirements and exceeds expectations. Your key responsibilities will include:

• • Planning, designing and selling inspirational kitchens using the Company’s range of products with the highest level of customer service

  • Developing long term collaborative business relationships with customers from the building trade and their clients.

  • Visit sites including people’s homes to measure and evaluate the customer’s needs. 

  • Utilising Howdens unique 'My Kitchen' service which offers the ability to create and view high quality images. 

  • Correctly processing estimates, pricing, delivery dates and stock requirements for your customer.

Our Kitchen Sales Designers come from a variety of backgrounds; however they all share a passion for sales and providing great customer service. Using your natural sales skills and creative flair, you will learn to achieve and exceed your sales targets every month. We are inviting applications for apprenticeship positions at our Aberdeen Service Centre. We seek individuals who are dedicated to pursuing a professional career in engineering. The following qualifications and attributes are desired for this role:

• • Completion of a college programme, specifically the Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) qualification, or

  • Currently undertaking studies towards a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

  • A genuine interest in Engineering and technology

  • Good time keeping and organisational skills

  • A positive attitude and strong attention to detail

Alternatively, where the college programme has not been completed, a minimum of four Standard Grades, including Mathematics and English, will be considered

With the emphasis firmly on grounds care machinery, you will develop skills and proficiency in a wide range of technical areas, from routine maintenance and servicing through to complex component overhauls utilising the very latest John Deere diagnostic equipment.

The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.

What will I learn?

Land-Based Service Engineering Technician - Level 3

SCQF's Numeracy, ICT, Problem Solving, Working with others & Communication (if GCSE, SCQF's or equivalent A-C/9-4 is not already achieved)

What qualifications or qualities are required?

Vehicles are highly complex, and whilst no formal qualifications are required, you must be literate and numerate, with a desire to learn, and a genuine interest in vehicle technology.

You should be;

Technically minded, practical, logical, able to listen, follow instructions and be willing to study

Able to work as part of a busy, fast moving team

SCQF Nat 5's desirable.
