Located at the Institute of Physics, Academia Sinica, in Taiwan, the Physics of Active & Living Matter (PALM) group comprises 9 PIs whose research spans non-equilibrium physics, soft matter physics, active matter, and living organisms. The PALM group aims to establish a leading research hub for the nonequilibrium physics and biophysics communities in Asia.

Founded in 1928, Academia Sinica is Taiwan's premier national research institution, comprising 33 research institutes and centers. The Institute of Physics hosts more than 350 researchers and staff and provides a vibrant interdisciplinary environment for research in fundamental and applied physics.
