Math Equipment

How do you store your math equipment? Can students readily access whatever they need? Do they know where everything lives in the classroom?

When I became an ALiM teacher, one thing that we were encouraged to do, was to allow our students to choose the equipment that they thought would be best to solve their problem efficiently. This was rather eye opening at times! How often do we just give students the equipment that we think is right for the job at hand, rather than letting them think about it for themselves.

Another handy wee tip - buy small containers and place two sets of 20 counters and one die in them. Then students can grab one next time they want to play a math game!
