I wonder why…
What if…
What do you think?
What could we do to find out?
Go outside and play.
Allow kids to make a mess when they’re following their curiosities.
What to say to kids instead of "be careful":
Share your mistakes. Mistake-making is a normal and useful part of the learning process.
Practice a growth mindset. Believe in your own and your child(ren)'s ability to learn new and challenging information and skills.
Focus on effort over outcomes. Instead of, "You are good at this," try, "You worked very hard on this."
It is okay to not know something. If your child asks you a question to which you don't have the answer, make a plan to find out the answer together.
