Capitalism on Trial

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” - Declaration of Independence, 1776

The American capitalist economy has been indicted on two counts:

That it knowingly engaged in activity that supported inequality among United States citizens.
That its tenets [main principles] have denied the majorit of United States citizens their unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Everyone in the class has an important role in the trial. Some will be attorneys (prosecution and defense) and some will serve in the dual role of expert witnesses and jury members.
