Air LC Science

Course Overview

Eighth grade students will start the year learning about the Nature of Science and how to make claims and analyze data.  Matter and chemical changes will be investigated and students will learn how matter changes during chemical reactions.  Next the class will investigate Earth’s Place in the Universe, Earth systems and human activity that will incorporate weather and climate as well as the impact humans have on the climate.  The students will then transition into learning about the Reproduction of Organisms and Genetics, and Biological Evolution. The end of the year will be focused on physics. The focus will be on motion and stability and how forces interact with one another.
