I strongly believe that effective language teaching is an inclusive collaborative process in which knowledge is built through shared experiences in the classroom. Drawing on TBLT, I refute the traditional teacher-centered model and instead create learning environments that place students at the center of their educational journey.
My communicative approach gives students ample opportunities to practice the target language, inspiring creativity and new ways of linguistic expression. By varying lessons to cater to different learning styles and preferences, I transform teaching into what I call an "endless adventure", demonstrated through practical strategies like implementing "Passion Talks" that allow students to explore personal interests while developing language skills.
The place of a native speaker is one where language learning is viewed from outside the realm of just 'memorizing rules.' It means looking into other ways of existence, understanding different cultures, and expanding global perspectives. Still, while including direct grammar explanation, I present grammar through contextualized games and mnemonic devices so that students recognize language patterns naturally. For example, I often use interactive exercises such as bingo, gallery walks, and study stations in which grammatical learning is turned into an amusing, playful experience.
The classroom becomes a mutual learning space where both I and the students continually grow. I help students develop confidence in overcoming communication barriers by encouraging them to negotiate meaning as it would naturally occur. This approach leads not only to improvement in language proficiency but also in the development of important intercultural communication skills.
My role is to provide meaningful, inclusive content and appropriate contexts for practice while at the same time helping students develop effective language learning strategies. In this collaborative process, I learn as much from my students as they learn from me, refining my teaching methods and creating a dynamic, evolving classroom experience.
