I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Arizona. I am on the 2025-2026 Job Market. My CV is available here.
My research focuses on applying artificial intelligence (LLMs and RAG) to analyze and extract data from large historical records. Currently, I am working with two million pages of Chinese county gazetteers and fifty million words of government records from the Chinese empire.
I am passionate about using these data to study how political change, market reform policies, and technological innovation have shaped state capacity and economic development in both the short and long term.
Research Interests: Economic history, development economics, political economy, the application of artificial intelligence in economic research.
