Our lab investigates visual search and attention in simplified and complex environments, with a recent emphasis on medical image perception and artificial intelligence (AI). We focus on how undergraduates and radiologists search for signs of breast cancer in simulated medical images. Our work bridges cognitive psychology, neuroscience, human factors, radiology, and computer science. Our studies involve behavioral experiments, eye tracking, and EEG to study visual search within our labs in the Department of Psychology and the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences.
