Dear Student,
I can't wait to welcome you into my classroom! Even Linc is getting ready to greet you! We are going to have some fun, grow a lot, and learn about our history! Let's move real fast, through America's past...
Love,
Mrs. E
Welcome!
I'm so excited to start this new year with you, learning and growing.
There are a lot of things that I love about teaching, but one of the things I love most is getting to show my students that history class can be interesting, important, and engaging. When I went through school, most of my history classes were very dry and boring. That was the norm. It wasn't until many years later that I started to experience our history through travel, meeting people, and having experiences that helped spark my passion to learn more about our rich history. It was then that I knew I needed to teach it.
I want to ignite a love for history in students and give them the experiences in history class that I missed out on in school. I want to convince them of the value of learning our history and how to contribute to our community as a citizen of America. We will try new things this year. I will learn alongside your student. We will play, we will grow and we will learn meaningfully. I cannot wait to see what unfolds this year for us!
A little bit about me: I live with my husband, two daughters and French Bulldog named Roosevelt (named after Teddy #26). My daughters attend school in Argyle, my oldest at the SGC, and my youngest as a 3rd grader at Hilltop. I love to read, crochet, create, run, hike, travel, and spend time with my family.
On my website, you will find the Google classroom calendar for my class. I will post weekly lesson plans that you can access to see what we have in store for the week.
I can't wait to get to know you. It's going to be an incredible year. Go Eagles!
