Marlie Cote

Marlie Cote ("cody") is in her fifth year in Argyle ISD and her third year at AMS. She previously served as the head band director at the Argyle Sixth Grade Center (SGC). Her teaching responsibilities include Honor Winds, all beginner woodwind classes, and assisting with all other band classes at AMS. Under Mrs. Cote’s direction, the Argyle Middle School Symphonic ensembles have earned consistent sweepstakes awards at UIL, Peak festival, a “Best in Class” award at the Director’s Choice competition, and a "runner-up" award at the North Texas Festival of Distinction competition in 2026. In addition, they were also a winner of the "Citation of Excellence" award in 2023.

Mrs. Cote is a native Texan who began her band journey in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst. During her time at Bell, she learned from master teachers, Joe and Cathy Grzybowski; she also played flute/piccolo and served as drum major. Mrs. Cote holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she studied under Fred J. Allen, Helen Blackburn, and Dr. Kevin Sedatole. "Axe 'em Jacks!"

Mrs. Cote began her career teaching middle school band and has worked in Lewisville ISD, Mansfield ISD, and Coppell ISD. Mrs. Cote is honored to have worked with esteemed band directors such as Jolette Wine, Steve Seibert, Kathy Johnson, Mike Brown, Chris Meredith, Rusty Gray, and Bojan Gutic. During her years teaching middle school, her bands earned UIL “sweepstakes” awards as well as “superior” awards at many band festivals and contests. Mrs. Cote also spent several years as a private flute instructor and has many years’ experience teaching elementary school music, most recently in Lewisville ISD, where she earned “Teacher of the Year” in 2018.

Mrs. Cote is a member of Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and The Texas Flute Society.

Mrs. Cote resides in Flower Mound with her husband Russell, who is recently retired Director of Bands from McKamy MS in Flower Mound. They have two adult sons, Ian and Braden, and the best dog ever, Shadow. In her free time, she enjoys attending live performances and spending time with family and friends.

Hunter Frybergh

Hunter Frybergh (Fry-Burg) is in his second year of teaching at Argyle Middle School after graduating Cum Laude from the University of North Texas in May of 2025. A trombone player his entire musical career, Mr. Frybergh played in numerous ensembles at UNT, most notably the Wind Symphony, Wind Orchestra, Trombone Consortium, Green Brigade, and 6 O'Clock Lab Band. Other ensembles he has performed with include the Lone Star Wind Orchestra and North Texas Symphony Orchestra.

In just his first year at Argyle Middle School, Mr. Frybergh led the Symphonic Band to earn "Sweepstakes" at UIL, performing music each an entire grade level above standard curriculum. He also earned top ratings at the North Texas Festival of Distinction, and took the Argyle Jazz Band to perform at numerous events including the grand opening of Tom Thumb (Harvest), the AISD Football Stadium Grand opening, and more.

Mr. Frybergh completed his Student Teaching in Coppell ISD under the mentorship of Kim Shuttlesworth and Jeremy Lindquist. In addition, he has work as a marching band field technician for programs across the DFW Metroplex and in Florida, where he grew up.

In his free time, Mr. Frybergh enjoys cooking, watching movies, and spending time with his girlfriend. His teaching responsibilities include teaching the Symphonic Band, all beginner brass classes, jazz band, and assisting with all other band classes at AMS.

Adriana Lima is excited to join the percussion staff as the new Assistant Percussion Director. She is entering her eighth marching season teaching percussion and is a graduate of Texas Christian University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Minor in Business. Since 2019, she has worked with percussion programs across North Texas, most recently in Wylie ISD and Lovejoy ISD. Last season, she helped the Wylie High School Front Ensemble earn Best Front Ensemble at the McKinney Marching Invitational, and she looks forward to bringing that same passion and enthusiasm to the program.

Outside of band, Ms. Lima enjoys playing drum set and timbales at her church, participating in community service, exercising, and traveling to El Salvador to spend time with her extended family and stay connected to her Salvadoran heritage. She is excited to become part of the school community and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with the students, staff, and families while making this a memorable year!
