The GOV.PH or National Government Portal (NGP) is a single window uniting all web-based government content to maximize efficiency and provide rapid, high-quality services to citizens. It enables the citizens to find services quicker to reach in a single website. The GOV.PH also aims to propagate a uniform government look and feel while increasing government transparency.
National Archives of the Philippines
The National Archives of the Philippines is the home of about 60 million documents from the centuries of Spanish rule in the Philippines, the American and Japanese occupations, as well as the years of the Republic. It is also the final repository for the voluminous notarized documents of the country.
The Philippine Information Agency is the official public information arm of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines. It is an attached unit of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO). The PIA works with the Office of the President through PCOO, national government agencies, and other public sector entities in communicating their programs, projects, and services to the Filipino people. The agency has a regional office in all 15 regions and has an information center in 79 provinces across the Philippines.
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Program is the Government’s response to the call for transparency and full public disclosure of information. FOI is a government mechanism, which allows Filipino citizens to request any information about government transactions and operations, provided that it shall not put into jeopardy – privacy and matters of national security.
Department of Science and Technology
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is the premiere science and technology body in the country charged with the twin mandate of providing central direction, leadership and coordination of all scientific and technological activities, and of formulating policies, programs and projects to support national development.
The science.ph project is testament to the commitment of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in promoting science and technology awareness in the Philippines. It is both a search engine and a free, comprehensive information website that contains "everything science" in the Philippines—hence the tagline “Science for every Juan.”
This contains the union catalog of the DOST ScINET-PHIL, a consortium of all the 21 libraries and information centers under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) including its 15 regional offices.
The Philippine eLib is a collaborative project of the National Library of the Philippines (NLP), University of the Philippines (UP), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
The Philippine Research , Education and Government Information Network (PREGINET) is the country’s only Research and Education Network (REN) that interconnects academic, research, and government institutions, and has links to international RENs such as the Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN), the Asian Internet Interconnection Initiatives (AI3), and the Trans-Eurasia Information Network 3 (TEIN3).
