Update your info: Ensure you or the outgoing GSR has submitted your name and contact information to your District Committee Member (DCM) and Area Registrar.
The GSR Kit: Once registered, watch for your GSR Kit from the General Service Office. It contains the Service Manual and essential literature.
Find a Service Sponsor: Ask someone who has experience in District or Area service to mentor you. This is different from a recovery sponsor.
Connect with your DCM: Introduce yourself to your District Committee Member. They are your primary resource for questions about local service.

[ ] Get the GSR Kit
[ ] Bookmark aa.org on your phone/computer.
[ ] Get a copy of your Area and District Guidelines (ask your DCM for these).
[ ] Locate your group’s Service Number (needed for all contributions and correspondence).
District Meetings: Mark your calendar for the monthly District meeting.
Area 53 Assemblies: Find out when the next Area Assembly is held (usually quarterly).
Group Business Meeting: Schedule a 5-minute slot at your home group’s business meeting to give your first report.
