Cocoa Beans

Cocoa Beans

Cocoa beans have a long process included in them. This is the most popular type of process. First the fruit is removed from the tree with a sharp blade, then the fruit is cut open, next the seeds or beans are scooped out, then the beans and pulp are placed outside in piles for about a week, the shells then get darker and harder, at about a week the beans are separated from the pulp and can be dried in the sun, after the beans are done drying there sent to factories to be roasted to give off a chocolaty smell, then the shells are removed leaving only the inside of the bean called "nibs". The nibs are there to form the chocolate that we all eat from. Cocoa beans are not only used for chocolate They are also use for coffee, cocoa power, hot chocolate, chocolate cake and of course chocolate bars.
