Research Software Repositories
Have a look at this list awesome of research software registries (also known as catalog, index, warehouse, repository, hub, platform, etc.).
This list has been created by the community and lists publicly accessible websites where research software can be registered. The registries employ Search Engine Optimization such as the addition of metadata to help promote discovery of the research software that is published on the registry. Websites do not necessarily have to retain their own copies of the research software to be included in the list.
Nine best practices for research software registries and repositories.

The analysis indicates there is a sizable and growing community research software support capability that needs to be developed, retained, sufficiently skilled and valued.

Action required to improve software visibility should be both bottom-up (educating the research community about software citation practices) and top-down (using modern technical and social infrastructure).
Unearthing research software
Maxfield Brown, E., & Weber, N. (2024). Zenodo.

Estimating that nearly half of the Australian Research Council (ARC) grants from 2010 to 2019 resulted in software production, highlighting the need to strengthen support for research software and its discovery, reuse and sustainability.
