Join us for a virtual offering of the Arcos Learning Abroad Spanish & Electives program. Take online classes with our academic partner, the University of Oaxaca, established in 1827 and one of the first universities in Mexico. Students may choose one or more courses taught over the course of the semester or the summer. Students choose from Spanish language courses and electives. Synchronous teaching is adapted to the student's time zone.

University of Oaxaca

Classes in Oaxaca are offered by the University of Oaxaca (UABJO), which was established in 1827 and is one of the first universities in Mexico. Spanish Language and Elective classes are taught at the Facultad de Idiomas, the prestigious language department of the university. The Spanish program began at UABJO in 1987 and has since evolved into an esteemed Spanish language institution.

Accreditation: The University of Oaxaca (Universidad Autónoma "Benito Juárez" de Oaxaca), UABJO, is a fully accredited university by the government of Mexico.

History & Size: The University of Oaxaca was founded in 1827. The Language Department, where you will take classes, has roughly 1,000 students.
