Why Donate?
Donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation go directly toward accelerating research and improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease. The foundation funds a wide range of scientific programs, from basic research to clinical trials, all focused on understanding how and why Parkinson’s develops, how it progresses, and how to stop or slow it down. They invest in both academic and industry studies, supporting breakthroughs in genetics, biomarkers, and potential new treatments. A significant portion of donations helps move promising discoveries into real-world therapies and tools that can make a difference for patients today. The foundation also leads its own large-scale initiatives to fill gaps in Parkinson’s research and make critical data and resources available to scientists worldwide. Impressively, about 88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to research programs, ensuring that contributions have an immediate and meaningful impact on finding a cure.
