Archbold Area Schools provides transportation for students who reside in the predetermined bus route areas. We take great pride in providing quality transportation. Our bus drivers are highly qualified with an average of 12 years of bus driving experience. Our bus drivers get the privilege of being with your child at the start of the school day and the end of the school day.
Our hope is that we can be a smiling face and a source of encouragement for them to start and end their day.
Safety is our top priority when it comes to transporting your child. Our drivers go through extensive training to be sure that we are using the most effective practices and procedures to ensure safety.
Bus Passes may be obtained for students to go home or to a child care provider.
No bus passes will be issued for social purposes even if the students ride the same bus.
When making a change to your child's transportation after the school year has started,
you will need to make the changes in Final Forms and contact the transportation department.
Students will be allowed no more than 2 locations/buses this year to promote student safety and route efficiency.
Examples of 2 locations/buses:
1: Pick up at home
2: Drop off at a childcare provider.

2: Drop off at home.
1: Pick up at home
2: **Drop off at home M-W-F. Drop off at a childcare provider T-TH.
**If a scenario like this one is used, a printed weekly schedule must be submitted to the building secretary and the transportation department by 12:00 P.M. each Friday.
It is imperative that students be at the bus stop in advance of their scheduled pickup time. Late students at bus stops affect the timing of the bus route. In the case of winter weather conditions, the bus may be arriving a few minutes later than normal, parents need to prepare your children for those time variations. This situation can occur both at the morning pick-up and the afternoon drop-off.
Children waiting at bus stops tend to wander too close to the roads. Please impress on your child to stay back away from the road.
Expectations for student behavior on buses are the same as in the classroom. Inappropriate behavior on a bus can be even more of a hazard when that behavior draws the driver’s attention away from the road. We ask for your help and cooperation to instill in your children the extreme nature of this situation. A student who is unwilling to choose appropriate behavior as determined by the driver and building administrator, can and will be removed from the bus.
By working together, we can ensure that the school year will be a great success for our students and our school. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Linda Schmidt between 11:00 am - 4:30 pm at 567-444-4395.
We will transport typical peer preschool students if the following criteria are met.
A parent or guardian will need to contact the transportation department.
The preschool student needs to have an older sibling who attends an Archbold School and rides the same bus.
The preschool student is capable of staying seated during the route.
No typical peers can be bussed at midday.
