Per School Board Policy 5330, Prescription Medications need to be brought to school by a parent or guardian, in ORIGINAL CONTAINER for medication to be given at school. Parents/Guardians will have to fill out and sign a permission form.
Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are kept in the school offices and are available to students upon request. For these medications to be administered there needs to be a signed form authorizing us to give these medications. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen authorizations should be completed on FinalForms under Health History & Medical Profile and Medication Permissions.
Your child must be fever-free for a 24-hour period (without fever-reducing medication) before returning to school. A fever is anything above 99.6
Your child needs to be vomit-free for 24 hours before returning to school.
If your child has been diagnosed with strep throat, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu, or another contagious virus or illness, they need to be on an antibiotic for 24 hours prior to coming to school.
*Remember! To get the most accurate temperature reading, do not give food or drink to your child before taking their temperature, and be sure that it has been 4 hours since they were last given acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
