I currently live in Arcadia, Wisconsin, with my husband Najib and our five beautiful children. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stout in Art Education with a concentration in Ceramics. I’ve had the privilege of teaching art at the Arcadia Middle School for the past eighteen years. I will receive a Masters Degree in Art Education from the University of Eastern Illinois in the spring of 2020. I also am an active member of the Wisconsin Art Education Association and serve on the Board of Directors.

Teaching allows me the opportunity to share my creativity and new ideas with children. In return, I receive the gift of watching students learn, discover, and grow while they explore the exciting world of art. Being surrounded by adolescents can be an excellent source of inspiration and energy!

It represents reincarnation, in the sense that as an artist and teacher I am continually evolving and changing. I am not the same person I was yesterday. Self portraiture is an act of examining oneself and drawing out the best possible version of yourself.
