Last week our tamariki were privileged to go on the special big bendy bus to continue learning fundamental movement skills at Olympia Gymnastics and while there we also visited the nearby Airforce Museum.
This week our tamariki got creative with Lego from our special visitors from the House of Bricks. The children made patterns and completed STEM challenges such as building racing cars that can travel furthest via a ramp without breaking.
It was wonderful to see the children living our school values by being kaitiaki and caring for our local environment as part of our Inquiry learning - the power in me to make a difference - maku e whakatika - it starts with me!
Our fantastic trip to the Antarctic Centre! We learned so much. Thank you to our wonderful parent helpers.
This week during our problem solving maths session we were learning how to share out 'birds eggs' using only odd numbers.
We started to look at halves and went on a fraction hunt around the classroom!!
We learned about the difference between insects and spiders and got to see lots of really cool bugs!

Affirmation Station: I AM ME
Looking at that makes us special and unique to everyone else
Knowing that everyone is special and unique around us too.
Used poems and videos to enhance this message
PAUSE, BREATHE, CHOOSE
Making good choices in different situations
Knowing how I can show my kindness to others.
On Thursday we had Selwyn Sport out to run some of the games we missed. We had a great time.
It would be great if the children can continue to practise skipping, hopping and jumping skills at home.
Thank you to our sport leaders for helping.

Theme: 'Power': Using power for good; Power of being fair; Words have power; Actions speak loudly. The power of kind words and actions. What makes a good leader? What are the impacts of the decisions we make? Kindness is my 'super power'.
The ākonga designed their own superhero badge and printed these onto superhero capes.
Thank you to Matua Steve, for making our wooden print blocks for us and the sheet donations from the community.
On Friday, Elena's mum came in and we made crystals. We have been watching them grow.
During CRT time we have been learning about parts of a plant. Look at our collage plant we have made!
