Patrick Dailey is a native of Pinson, Alabama, and a proud graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where he earned his degree in 2011. During his time at UAB, Mr. Dailey was deeply involved in the Music Department. He served as drum major and trumpet section leader for the Marching Blazers, and performed with the wind symphony, jazz ensemble, brass quintet, trumpet ensemble, and the Blazer Band (Basketball Pep Band). He also performed with the UAB Trumpet Ensemble at the 2011 International Trumpet Guild Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
In 2006, Mr. Dailey marched with the Spirit of JSU Drum and Bugle Corps, earning finalist honors at the DCI World Championships in Madison, Wisconsin. He later served on staff with the Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps in 2014.
Mr. Dailey currently serves as Director of Bands at Arab High School in Arab, Alabama. Prior to his appointment at Arab, he was Director of Bands at Ardmore High School in Limestone County and Assistant Band Director at Albert P. Brewer High School in Morgan County. Under his direction, bands have consistently earned superior ratings in both marching contests and state Music Performance Assessments.
From 2019 to 2020, Mr. Dailey served as Vice-Chairman for the Alabama Bandmasters Association District 1. He is a National Board Certified Teacher and holds memberships in the National Association for Music Educators, Alabama Music Educators Association, Alabama Bandmasters Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Education in Instrumental Music Education at the University of North Alabama.
Mr. Dailey and his wife, Lauren, are blessed to be parents of four wonderful children.
Samantha James is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and has served as Assistant Director of Bands for Arab City Schools since 2021. During her time at UAB, she served as flute section leader and performed in various ensembles such as the Marching Blazers, Blazer Band, Wind Ensemble, and Flute Ensemble. She is originally from Cullman, AL and graduated from Good Hope High School where she was a member of the band for six years and drum major for three years.
Samantha previously taught elementary music and band in Cullman County as well as choir, band, and theater in Limestone County. She has helped lead Arab City Bands through successful marching and concert seasons including superior ratings at MPA and Second Place in the Alabama State Marching Championships. Furthering her education, she is currently working toward a Master in Instrumental Music Education at the University of North Alabama.
Samantha lives in Huntsville with her husband Frank, their son Kingston, and Penny the cat.
Kirk Finley is the Director of Percussion for Arab City Schools. He's taught at Arab since 2015. Mr. Finley is a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. His degrees are in Percussion Performance and Business. While at Harding, he was selected to serve as the percussion section leader for two years.
Mr. Finley is an active member of the Cullman Community Band and is blessed to play percussion all over the country. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and pickleball while also spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Finley is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and an Education Team member of Salyers Percussion.
Frank James is a Huntsville native who graduated from Buckhorn High School and went on to study euphonium and music education at UAB where he served as section leader, brass captain, and drum major of The Marching Blazers. He also marched 2 seasons with Drum Corps International finalists Spirit from JSU in 2003 and 2005. Frank has served on the visual team for the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps since 2023. Outside of music, Frank works as a full-time wedding photographer.
Erica Finley is from Albertville, AL. She began dancing with Jane Kohl School of Dance at the age of 4 and continued her training at Studio B Dance from 2004 to 2015 under the direction of Ms. Bobbi Dale Rowe. She has training in various styles including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip-hop.
While in high school, Mrs. Finley was heavily involved in the performing arts programs including the Albertville Aggie Band, Southern Stars Dance Line, Aggie Theatre, CenSations, and CenterStage show choir, and the VocalEase performance ensemble. After high school, she continued her dance career on the Snead State Community College Dance Team, Troy University Dance Team, and finally the UNA Lionettes.
Mrs. Finley began teaching at the age of 16 as an assistant to the Albertville choir programs and later at Studio B Dance in 2014. Erica has also served as an instructor at Impulse Performing Arts Studio in Madison, AL, and All That Jazz Dance Co. in Boaz, AL. She currently teaches at Kohl Academy Performing Arts Center in Guntersville and Soles Dance Center in Huntsville. She has taught and choreographed for many dance lines in the North Alabama area including Douglas, Crossville, and Winston County High Schools. Erica currently is the proud instructor/choreographer for the Oneonta and Arab High School bands.
Erica graduated from UNA with a bachelor’s in business management in 2017. She has been an active member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity since 2016 and was awarded the Sword of Honor in 2023. When she is not dancing, you can find her spending time with family and friends or with her rescue dog Bo.
