Stopping "Traffic" from the Inside Out:

A teacher approach

-SECONDARY EDUCATOR RESOURCES-

To End Human Trafficking & Exploitation

The information curated on this site is from research resulting after a Summer Scholar Grant Project

Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI

The goal of this project is to prepare and support secondary teachers when identifying the exploitation of a student in their classroom and educating all students about contemporary trafficking. Exploitation victims are estimated at around 300,000 with an average entry age around 14 (Polaris, 2018; WAR International, 2018). The research delved into and the resources curated from this project will help teachers support students who might already be exploited and those who are at risk of being exploited. As well, it will help break barriers in critical dialogue, end victim blaming and educate to prevent future “Johns” or exploiters.
