"Words of Peace" Poetry Readings

MLK Day - Poems - SD 480p.mov

This year, CDIE collaborated with the Aquinas College Writers' Guild for a poetry reading. The poems have been selected by the members of the Guild and focus on sentiments of peace and justice.

As we listen to the poems, we hope that listeners reflect not just on the current state of the world, but also on the long-fought battle for peace that oppressed communities have had over the years.

Poems read are as listed:

"The Bombing of Baghdad" by June Jordan, read by Summer Hickok

"Reclaiming Hope: A World Without War" by Kegan Pelvie, read by Laura Standel

"It Could Have Been" by Clare Shaw, read by Maggie Palnau
