Dress Code

The dress code is business casual and includes the following guidelines:

Those students who wear non-professional attire will not be allowed to participate. Please, do not wear cocktail attire, tight clothing, short skirts, or low-cut tops which do not represent you, APU, the School of Nursing, or the nursing industry. It is at the discretion of each Department Chair and Program Director to allow specific clothing. 

Order Your Nursing Pin

The Nursing Pin is ordered at the time of commencement and includes a custom special engraving process which means they will not be available for summer Pinning. All nursing students are highly encouraged to purchase the SON-approved pins.

Order Your Nursing Sash

Like the pin, the SON Sash is ordered for commencement. 

Framed Class Picture

Each semester, the SON proudly places each cohort's group photo on the walls of our campus. Please bring the framed photo to the rehearsal so that we can place it on the stage. 

Sizes vary but the frame must be able to sit on an easel. As this is a gift from your cohort, students are responsible for photography and framing expenses. 

Note: We recommend that your department/program, cohort number, and campus are placed on the frame. Contact your Program Staff for additional information.

Student Slideshow: Submit Photos

We will generate a slideshow of photos you submit and plan to show the presentation before and after the event starts. In addition, we will make a copy available on the Pinning Ceremony website.
