Your Mentor and You
Your mentor is assigned by your school. You will see the course appear in Home Access Center. Your mentor will have access to your GPA and Senior Attendance. Your mentor will be collecting and marking completion toward the components of your Senior Inquiry and collection of any Service Learning Hours. It is important that you keep in contact with your mentor as much as possible throughout the entire course.
Grading Policy
At the conclusion of the year, the Senior Project course is graded with:
O = Outstanding (3 or more criteria met)
S = Satisfactory (2 criteria met)
U = Unsatisfactory (0-1 criteria met)
Students with an O or S mark at the end of marking period 4 (year end) will be qualified to receive an elective credit and marked "Met" for alternative graduation pathway Option 1. The criteria that a student may meet are: 1) Maintained a 93% Senior Attendance 2) Maintained a 2.5 (or better) Senior GPA 3) Completed a minimum of 120 Service Learning Hours and 4) Completed satisfactory marks on the Senior Inquiry. Note: Some APS High Schools may have additional criteria available to students in order to meet a satisfactory or outstanding final grade. For example, a student already completing a Marketing Capstone in his or her senior year may use the Capstone to replace the Senior Inquiry portion of this course. Additionally, some students may use criteria they took advantage of in school, such as 3 or more College Credit Plus credits. Senior Counselors can advise on other options students may include.
Questions and Appeals
If you have additional questions or concerns, first reach out to the assigned student mentor, senior counselor, and/or the principal of the high school. For appeals or additional questions, please email TheSeniorProject@apslearns.org and a team will review.
