- Our first Biomed Club meeting for 2017-2018 will be held Friday, September 22nd, 2017. Biomed/SkillsUSA meetings will then be held on the first Thursday of each month. (10/5/17, 11/2/17, 12/7/17, 1/11/18*, 2/1/18, 3/1/18, 4/5/18, 5/3/18, 5/31/18*) (*due to break)
- Biomed Officer nominations will be taken from Tuesday 9/12 to Thursday 9/21. Students who are new to Biomed this year can be considered for the Class Representatives and Website Administrator. Juniors and Seniors who have been in the Biomed program for at least one full year may be nominated for Pres, VP, Secretary, & Treasurer. Candidates will have an opportunity to present for 3 minutes to their peers at the meeting on Friday 9/22. Voting will take place in Biomed classrooms on Monday 9/25. Officers will be chosen by Mrs. Dine, with Biomed student votes being considered as one of 4 factors in determining our Biomed officers this year. Other factors include last year's GPA, other activities, and staff recommendations. See the Officers page for more details.
- STEM Club will meet on the second Tuesday of each month for the 1st semester, and the 2nd Wednesday of each month for the 2nd semester, from 3:30-4:30 pm. Meeting dates are 10/10/17, 11/14/17, 12/12/17, 1/10/18, 2/7/18*, 3/14/18, 4/4/18*, 5/9/18. (*due to holiday). Come join us in science and engineering fun, where we light off matchstick rockets and build rubber band missiles! Who doesn't like to play mad scientist, with a risk of blowing things up? :)
- HPAC will meet after school weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 pm. HPAC is open to ALL North HS students, regardless of academy or pathway. The purpose of HPAC is to encourage high school students to identify a community health problem and create a project that could help improve that problem. Students work alone or in teams (any size). They carry out their project during the school year, with help & guidance from Americorps volunteers and community partners. Students attend a kick-off pep rally at NEOMED (Northeast Ohio Medical University, Rootstown, Ohio) in the evening of Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 - field trip! Students present their completed project to other students and community leaders at Scholars' Day on Sunday, April 22, 2018 - field trip!
- Public Speaking/Toastmasters Club will meet the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, from 3:30 - 4:15 pm. Our focus will be to help students become better speakers in front of others. All students are welcome, but we are especially targeting those students who are petrified to speak in public! Come join us in a relaxing, no pressure environment, where you'll make new friends and pick up better speaking skills.
