The MISSION of the Virginia-Highland Elementary school counseling program is to implement a comprehensive program that will cultivate an open and inclusive mindset in every student. A successful implementation, rooted in equity will lead to student’s ability to thrive in the academic, personal/social, and career skills they will need in life.
The VISION of the Virginia-Highland Elementary school counseling program is to have empowered every student to develop positive values, produce academic excellence, set career aspirations and become well-rounded contributing citizens in our world.

All Students will achieve and meet high standards of learning that will result in college, career, and/or life success.
School Counselors will develop and manage a comprehensive school counseling program aligned with the district strategic plan and ASCA National Model Framework.
School Counselors must be leaders, advocates and collaborators who create equitable access to curriculum and opportunities for self-directed personal growth for every student.
School Counselors will apply the ASCA Ethical Standards to make decisions based on the highest moral principals to promote the maximum development of every student.
