Q: How much does it cost to use an APS Chromebook?
A: It costs $0 to use an APS Chromebook because of the Digital Bridge Initiative. However, if a device is determined to have been intentionally damaged, you may be charged for the full price of the device. This decision is made at the discretion of the APS Information Technology Department.
Q: Can my child use their personal device instead of a Chromebook?
A: To properly connect to APS Wi-Fi, you must use an APS-issued Chromebook.
Q: What happens if my child's Chromebook is damaged?
A: Bring the device to the device technician as soon as possible. They will perform a Powerwash for software-related issues or submit a service request for hardware-related issues. With hardware issues, devices are usually assessed and returned within 1 month. Students will be issued a loaner device when applicable.
Q: What happens if my child's Chromebook is lost/stolen?
A: If the device is lost, it must be reported to an administrator, then the Instructional Technology Specialist. If the device is stolen, a formal police report must be filed and a copy must be emailed to an administrator and the Instructional Technology Specialist. In both cases, a "Certificate of Loss Form" will be submitted to the APS Information Technology Department on behalf of the student.
