Why s.t.e.a.m. education
STEM is the acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). STEAM denotes the inclusion of the Arts (Arts programs must demonstrate the infusion of math and/or science concepts and principles)
In Georgia, a STE(A)M education program may include curriculum from career clusters other than engineering and computer science (i.e. healthcare science, agricultural science, biotechnology, music technology, and food and nutrition science).
In addition to fostering in-depth knowledge of Math and Science, a STE(A)M education increases achievement by equipping students with:
Critical and analytical thinking skills
Proficiency at solving non-routine problems
High-level communication abilities
Project management experience
Teamwork and leadership skills
s.t.e.a.m. education in practice

Standards-based Problem/Project-based learning based on authentic and real-world problem solving
Inter-disciplinary instruction (Math, Science, ELA, SS, CTAE & Fine Arts)
