The PSAT/NMSQT® given to 10th- and 11th-graders is an assessment designed to help prepare students for the SAT, college, and careers. Historically, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT score higher on the SAT than students who do not take the test.
Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade may enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships.
PSAT/NMSQT is offered free during school. Additional dates and information are forthcoming.
The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) is a college entrance exam used for college admissions, some scholarships and the STAR Student award program. The new SAT is more focused on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It measures what you learn in high school and what you need to succeed in college.

The ACT (American College Test) is a college entrance exam used for college admissions and some scholarships.The ACT contains multiple-choice tests in four areas: English, mathematics, reading and science. ACT's writing test is optional and will not affect your composite score.

ACCUPLACER is the most powerful tool available to help colleges assess student readiness for introductory credit-bearing courses and make reliable placement decisions. It is an exam used for admissions/placement for many technical or 2-year colleges.

To help prepare for the ACCUPLACER, there is a free Study App provided by College Board.
The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a timed multi-aptitude test, which is given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Department of Defense.
Initially, you will take the ASVAB your junior and/or senior year of high school. Your ASVAB scores determine what jobs you will qualify for in the military. If you need to take it additional times to improve your score, contact your military recruiter.

Advanced Placement (AP) exams are administered worldwide in May. High school students across the country and around the world take AP courses and exams to challenge themselves, explore their interests, and earn college credit and placement.
