What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is a type of thinking that helps you feel less anxious and less stressed.  When you are being mindful, you are focusing on being intensely aware of what you are feeling and sensing at the moment, without judgement. In other words, you are paying attention to how you are feeling without worrying about whether those feelings are "right" or "wrong."

Practicing mindfulness involves breathing methods, guided imagery, and other methods of relaxing the body and mind.

Multiple studies have shown that students who practice mindfulness are less stressed, less anxious, more able to concentrate, and have higher self esteem.  Below are some techniques that can help you practice mindfulness.
