Use this district-wide directory of volunteer position descriptions to:
Recruit, place and guide volunteers where they are needed to make an impact on critical school and district goals like Attendance, Family Engagement, Student and Staff Wellness, Reading and Math Scores, and more!
Evaluate the effectiveness of your volunteer program and the projects that support it.
This is a shared district-wide resource. We encourage you to:
Keep a school Volunteer Program binder either electronically or in a binder that can be accessed by your Principal and other staff who are working with you and can serve to provide sustainability for your Volunteer Program.
Tailor position descriptions to your school's unique needs and add them to your school's binder to ensure consistency and continuity for your entire team.
Use the Position Description Template to create and add new volunteer position descriptions to your school's portfolio.
Check back often! We will continually add position descriptions to the Directory as you complete them.

Assist teachers in providing basic skills instruction and enrichment opportunities that complement quality instruction and foster college and career readiness.
Volunteer Projects that Support School Academic Goals:
Promoting attendance and reducing chronic absenteeism.
Volunteer Projects that Support School Attendance Goals:
Helps students and families with basic needs and other support services that reduce barriers to learning and family engagement.
Volunteer projects that Support School Basic Needs goals:
Helps engage all families to participate and support their students by building a better understanding of school programs.
Volunteer projects that Support School Family Engagement goals:
Providing much needed support to school staff.
Volunteer projects that Support School Staff Support Goals:
Supports student wellness and safety.
Volunteer Projects that Support School Student Wellness Goals:
Each project may have more than one volunteer position/role to support it. Consider the role the volunteer plays at your school rather than the person who is doing them.
Reference Volunteer Skills and Interest Form to be completed by volunteers and the Volunteer Inventory Worksheet that you completed with your Goals worksheet.
Complete Volunteer Assignments worksheet by assigning volunteers to projects annually based on alignment of schools goals to the needs of the Volunteer Program.
Identify targeted job positions to support targeted project(s), and link them to all current and future volunteers.
If there are any volunteers that are working on other functions, consider reassigning them or adding these supports as a targeted school project.
Notify volunteers about annual projects and their assignments -- volunteers should be assigned each year, even if it is the same project as last year.

Where can new volunteers be linked?
What projects (e.g., tutoring, basic needs distribution, reading support, etc.) does the school need to support its goals?
What are all of the volunteer positions needed to support projects?
Does the volunteer require physical access to students?
