For the weeks October 29-November 19, read a young adult novel from the following list and write the double-entry journals you're missing.
With high school settings and characters, these titles are all about youth, love, and loss. (So is the play we're studying during class.)
Some are touching; others are humorous. Check out a few reviews on Goodreads.com if you need help picking a title. You or someone you know probably has a copy of at least one of the titles to read or borrow during the next three weeks. The library probably also has copies to check out.
Practice MLA style when you write the textual citations in the left column.
Practice rhetorical appeals and establishing empathy in your personal response. The rhetorical appeal response starters are posted on the bulletin board if you need to copy them to another note card.
And put a photo in your book to set daily page goals and reward yourself with a boost of the feels when you meet your reading goal.
Due dates are firm. This is recovery credit; no late journals. Due Nov. 5, 12, and 19.
